tr July 7, 2010: Status Report tr
The site's not been abandoned, we're just in the process of (at last!) revamping and finalizing the layout. The Guy is basically done with all the fancy-pants coding stuff, but I've been slow in getting the new banners, logos, etc. drawn up. So basically you can blame this mini-hiatus on me. Sorry.

If all goes according to plan (and when does it ever?) I should be able to crank out the new art a lot faster this month. With a li'l bit o' luck and maybe a few sleepless nights, we can get this thing launched all shiny and professional-looking at the beginning of August. But again, I've been offering new deadlines practically every other week, so best to take all this with a grain of salt... We really want the final product to look as good as it can, so taking our time is a good thing, right? Anyway once we do finally get all the layout stuff finished, regular updates will resume again, both for the comic and for the new Johnny-Powered blog.

Stay tuned. More updates to come as the work progresses.

tr June 7, 2010: Golden Tickets Not Included tr
Johnny shares a London Horror Story this time around. I wish I could say there was a sliver of truth behind it, but sadly, Gene Wilder did not assault me on my trip. I just kept thinking that he might.

You'll also be pleased to know that I resisted making a miserably bad pun in this comic. I was tempted, though... soooo very tempted...

Oh, okay, so here's what I think is going to be the game plan for the next couple weeks: major website overhaul extravaganza!! Which means my Priority One is drawing/redrawing any images needed for the site. I'm going to attempt to post an Abroad quickie next week as well, but this week also happens to be family wedding extravaganza, so no promises on that. My hope is to have the shiny new website up and running by the end of June, but I need to sit down with Johnny and The Guy one last time before I set a deadline. So for now just enjoy the comic, and I'll post when I know something more definite. Cheers!

tr June 1, 2010: The-Comic-That-Must-Not-Be-Named tr
Most college professors have a 24-hour grace period for turning in papers. I've decided to give Noses Off! a similar rule, at least for the moment. You see, in my infinite wisdom, I decided to start rebooting the webcomic the same month that a close family member got married, meaning Rihga is juggling not just work, school, and comicking, but work, school, comicking, and the almighty Family Obligations. I foresee many sleep-deprived nights in the merry old month of June, I can tell you that much.

Anyway, this is another Abroad installment. Kettle and Canis get to join in on the fun this time around. Also, I kind of love drawing everyone in slightly different clothing, as they adjust as needed to the chilly, drizzly London weather. Maybe I'll have to tweak their clothes more often, to fit with place and season.

Website Update: The Guy has put together some adjusted design formats. Now it's just a matter of picking one and making them appear on the Interwebs (I'm told this involves witchcraft). More updates to come, and if we wind up having to go down for a week so he can make all the changes, I'll be sure to alert everyone to that, too.

tr May 15, 2010: Back in the Saddle tr
Working again. Hooray! Instead of posting the black-and-white comics of London, I decided to go back in, color 'em up, and turn them into a new segment entitled "Noses Off! Abroad." It works sort of like the "Origins" arc, except it takes place in Merry Old England. Anyway, I've got about 4 planned out at the moment, but that may shrink or expand depending on my mood. I posted the first one today. Maybe it was obvious that the English major's first instinct would be a Fun With Languages comic. Expect more of those as N.O. continues. The art style is a shade more simplistic than usual (yes, that's actually possible) because I wanted to play around with something new, but I think I like it all right. I'll go back to my usual style after the gang returns to the States. Until then, enjoy the first installment in the England Adventures, and I hope to see you next week!

tr May 10, 2010: Not Yet Dead tr
Don't go clicking on the Comics button, because you won't find anything new just yet. I mostly popped in to explain that no, the site hasn't died, and yes, I plan to start comicking again very soon. An explanation (abridged version): First, JustHost temporarily lost(?) the website, so we were down for the last couple weeks of February, leaving me annoyed and useless. Then, just as they were resuscitating us, I went to London as part of a study abroad activity, and when I got back I wound up doing all the art (cover, section pages, insert comics, etc.) for the book that the class put together about the trip. So yeah, I've been drawing, just not for the website. I intend to post a slew of black-and-white quickie comics about the London trip in here as sort of an apology for all the missed weeks, and then I'll go back to the usual Noses Off! hijinks and tomfoolery. So that's two reasons we've been hiatus'd.

The third reason is that we "hired" The Guy (a soon-to-be recurring member of the NO! cast) to build us a better website, so I've been reluctant to do much posting until the overhaul is complete. I assume he's working on the new design as we speak, but he's also got the dreaded college monster to battle, so it's been somewhat slow going. Ideally I'd like to have everything put together in time for the website's one-year anniversary, but more on that when it draws a little bit closer (and never mind that it's just a month away).

That's all for now. Apologies abound, and keep checking in on Mondays for new comics. They should kick up again before the month is out.

tr Feb. 15, 2010: The One With the Copyright Infringement tr
So... I think this week's comic is safe because of minor logo alterations and the fact that it's a parody, but if it turns out I'm wrong, don't be surprised to see this one vanish from the archives at some point. We'll give it a try for now, though.

Incidentally, if you've never heard of Google Buzz, you should before you read this comic. I'm being surprisingly topical this week. I haven't had a chance to really try Buzz out, but so far it seems like a useful program. Assuming your friends actually have Gmail. And that you're not already following all their day-to-day silliness on every other available networking site. Well, I'm sure we'll find its raison d'etre one of these days. Google has a tendency to take existing technology and make it even sweeter, after all.

tr Feb. 8, 2010: There's an App for This One tr
Not a lot to say about this week's comic. It's pretty much just my life since classes started. My friends lured me onto Farmville with the promise of an adopted penguin. I still don't have a penguin (those sneaky bastards), but I'm a Level 24 Farmer who just purchased a shiny new tool shed because I'm trying to get the architect blue ribbon. I should probably be ashamed of myself for saying all that, but you know, I'm really not. Now I just need to figure out why my real-life carrot crop won't grow in 12 hours... maybe I should ask my neighbors to fertilize them for me.

...I should probably go before I make an even bigger nerd of myself, huh?

tr Feb. 2, 2010: Lord Gideon's Groove tr
Part 2 (of 2) of "Bad Romance" just got posted, so everyone go check it out. And yes, for the curious, of course the title is a reference to the Lady Gaga song. I dunno what it's like in the rest of the nation, but where I live, they play that song about once every 20 minutes on the radio. I can't decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing... I'm a little ashamed to admit it, but I kinda love that damn song.

Anyway, Johnny's romance novel reaches its climax this week (you see what I did there? Yeah you did). A fitting way to begin the month of February, I figure. Both Real Johnny and I hope that you enjoy what we think is the greatest sex scene ever written, and a huge thanks to Roommate Daren for providing this week's punchline. It's good to have friends you can steal jokes from.

tr Jan. 18, 2010: Ninja Theatre 2: Electric Boogaloo tr
I decided to go ahead and just run out the old backlog so the comic quality wouldn't jump back and forth between the old art program and the new one anymore. I'm still drawing new ones (or at least trying to - my funny seems to have flown South for the winter), so I'm creating a new back log as I go, I guess. Anyway, this is another installment in Ninja Theatre, where we learn that ninja, like boy scouts, always come prepared.
